What is “Silog” Breakfast?

 

Silog is a class of Filipino breakfast dishes containing “Sinangag” (fried rice) and “Itlog” (egg; or in context, fried egg); This is then served with various viands usually meat or fish dishes.

 

How are the names of the “Silog” dishes derived? – Take the first syllable or the first 2 to 3 letters of the viand or the full name of the dish, then the first syllable of the fried rice which is “Si” and the last syllable of the fried egg which is “Log” --- Thus, you have the names below 😊
